six white swans

six white swans in grace

upon the mirrorred ammersee,

they swim in line in ordered pace,

serene and with dignity.

who is the parent, who the child

is assumed with uncertainty

as they drift along in single file

to fulfil their destiny.

soon they pass out of sight

towards the western shore,

as we dine and await the night

they alas are seen no more.

as morning mists clear the waters

however they reappear again in line,

father, mother sons and daughters;

a majestic sight before nine.

six white swans in grace

upon the mirrorred ammersee,

they swim in line in ordered pace,

serene and with dignity.

shimmering images, now twelve,

like the apostles in perfection,

they bend their long necks to delve

below that cool reflection.

six white swans in grace

upon the mirrorred amersee,

they swim in line in ordered pace,

serene and with dignity.
